ZoneQ manual
ZoneQ lets you combine images, video, cameras, generated visuals and effects into a live composition. This manual explains the tools you use in Studio and links to editable projects where you can see them in action.
Find what you need
Section titled “Find what you need”| I want to… | Start here |
|---|---|
| Understand how my image is put together | Layers and the stack |
| Replace an example’s picture with my camera or video | Sources and Project Inputs |
| Make trails, echoes or a feedback tunnel | Feedback |
| Use one generated image in several places | Shared Textures |
| Play a folder of frames as animation | Image sequences |
| Start from an example or find a playlist | How the library works |
| Bring useful layers into the project I am editing | Add reusable layers |
A first way through Studio
Section titled “A first way through Studio”Begin with Layers and the stack to understand how a composition builds up. Then read Sources and Project Inputs to use your own media while keeping an effect’s connections.
Try Neon Grade for a small example: replace its source, adjust the exposed controls in the Rack, and watch how each control changes the picture. Save your edited project when you find a result you like.
Learn a feature, then try it
Section titled “Learn a feature, then try it”Examples accompany the explanations. On the Feedback page, learn what retained frames do, then open Fading Trails and change Retention per second to explore that behavior yourself. The guide identifies the layer and controls to inspect.
Use a complete example as a new editable project, or select its reusable layers when adding to a composition. Your edits belong to your own project.
Explore the examples
Section titled “Explore the examples”The Examples section contains all 32 project guides, from small techniques to complete compositions:
