Grid/Checker
Grid/Checker is a source-free procedural layer built from Pattern and Gradient Map. It is useful as a graphic background or as material to composite elsewhere.
Replaceable sources
Section titled “Replaceable sources”None. Every pixel is generated by the project.
Useful controls
Section titled “Useful controls”- Spacing / frequency changes cell density.
- Width changes how much of each repeat is filled.
- Angle rotates the grid.
- Motion speed animates the field.
- Palette offset and Colour contrast shape the colour mapping.
- Background colour and Pattern colour set the palette.
Add it to another project
Section titled “Add it to another project”Choose File → Append Project…, find Grid/Checker, and choose Choose layers to append. Select the reusable layer in Add layers and confirm. No source mapping is required.
Understand the graph
Section titled “Understand the graph”Pattern supplies the checker values and Gradient Map supplies colour. Use Layers and the stack to decide whether it should be a background, overlay, or mask source.
