Living Tiles
Living Tiles stamps a visual source across a grid, then varies scale, color, direction, and placement with procedural control maps. Audio level drives the tile jitter.
Replaceable sources
Section titled “Replaceable sources”- Replace Living Tiles source with an image, video, image sequence, or camera.
- Replace Living Tiles audio with an audio file, a video’s audio, microphone, or system audio.
The visual fills every stamp. The audio input drives motion; it does not replace the visible picture.
Useful controls
Section titled “Useful controls”- Tile size changes the size of every scattered stamp.
- Rotation variation increases per-tile angular variation.
- Columns and Rows change grid density independently.
- Highlight bloom controls finishing glow.
Jitter follows the audio input’s gain through a binding. Adjust the input level if the grid is too still or too chaotic.
Add it to another project
Section titled “Add it to another project”Select the reusable Living Tiles layer and resolve its visual and audio dependencies under Connect sources. Map compatible sources from your project or explicitly choose Include original source, then Add layers. The processing layer carries its procedural cell, value, colour, and vector fields. See Add reusable layers.
Understand the graph
Section titled “Understand the graph”A shape masks the source into a stamp. Cells and ID-to-Value produce repeatable variation, Gradient Map colors it, Vector Field provides directions, Scatter places the stamps, and Glow finishes the result. Read Project Inputs for the two replaceable sources.
