Flowing Contours
Flowing Contours combines broad source brightness with animated noise, then selects repeating value bands and colors them like a moving topographic map.
Replaceable sources
Section titled “Replaceable sources”Replace Flowing Contours source with an image, video, image sequence, or camera. Broad gradients and silhouettes produce more legible contours than fine texture.
Useful controls
Section titled “Useful controls”- Flow speed controls the phase rate of the procedural noise.
- Contour count changes how many bands repeat through the field.
- Line weight changes the width of the selected bands.
- Source influence blends the source into the field from
-2to2.
Start with a low Contour count to understand the source shape. Raise it for density, then balance Line weight so neighboring bands do not merge.
Add it to another project
Section titled “Add it to another project”Select the reusable Flowing Contours layer. Under Connect sources, map its source tap to an existing visual layer or choose Include original source to bring the separate demo producer. The procedural noise and bindings travel with the processing layer. See Add reusable layers.
Understand the graph
Section titled “Understand the graph”The source is heavily blurred into a broad field. Animated noise offsets it, Range Select produces repeating bands, and Gradient Map supplies color. Read Project Inputs and Layers and the stack.
