How the project library works
Library items are ordinary editable ZoneQ projects. Choose New project when you want a starting point, or File → Append Project… when you want to bring useful layers into the composition you are already editing. Both open the same Studio project browser.
Use Collection to choose official, personal, followed or locally available projects. Search by name or description, and use Sort to keep library order or browse by name. A playlist’s order belongs to its curator; changing your browser sort does not rearrange the saved playlist.
Choose the result you want
Section titled “Choose the result you want”Create a project
Section titled “Create a project”Choose Create project when you want the complete example as an independent copy with its own identity. This differs from the ordinary Open in Studio or Open-dialog flow, which opens the selected project: a non-owned library project becomes an editable fork, while one you own remains linked to its Portal project revision. Creating does not make your copy collaborative with the official project, and later official updates do not overwrite it.
Add reusable layers
Section titled “Add reusable layers”Choose File → Append Project…, select an example in the browser, then choose Choose layers to append. Select whole layers, connect the sources they need under Connect sources, and choose Add layers. Your existing composition remains open.
See Add reusable layers before importing media-heavy or feedback examples.
Check an unknown project first
Section titled “Check an unknown project first”When catalogue metadata cannot establish compatibility, the card shows Check compatibility instead of enabling Create or Add immediately. This validates the actual project source. It does not migrate or rewrite that source. Create and Add become available only after the checked source satisfies the current project contract.
Follow a playlist
Section titled “Follow a playlist”Choose Follow playlist on the Official Library or a themed playlist to keep its contents and order connected to the owner. New projects, removals, ordering changes, and updated project references can appear automatically. Following original playlist does not grant editing rights and does not download its projects for offline use.
Preview is on demand
Section titled “Preview is on demand”Library cards do not run every project continuously. Choose Preview selected project when you want motion or audio and Close live preview when finished. The preview iframe is created on demand, avoiding many GPU-heavy projects competing with Studio or one another.
Learn from an example
Section titled “Learn from an example”Project guides explain which layers and controls to inspect and link back to the relevant manual pages. Their Portal links take you to the published example. If an example has not been published yet, its guide says so rather than sending you to an unrelated project.
